The story this drink tells
The mojito, with its roots in 16th-century Cuba, was originally crafted as a medicinal tonic made from aguardiente, lime, sugarcane juice, and mint. Over the centuries, it evolved into the iconic rum-based cocktail we know today. This mocktail version celebrates the same spirit of refreshment and conviviality, but without the alcohol.
The addition of passion fruit brings a tropical vibrance that is especially popular throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. Passion fruit, also known as “maracuyá” in many Spanish-speaking countries, is cherished for its bold, tart flavor and aromatic juice. This drink captures the essence of summer; bright, cool, and endlessly refreshing, while remaining inclusive for all ages and lifestyles. Whether you are hosting a brunch, lounging by the pool, or simply craving a flavorful pick-me-up, this Passion Fruit Mojito Mocktail offers all the celebration, none of the hangover.

1 package (14 oz) frozen passion fruit pulp (e.g., Goya)
6 cups of water
1/3 cup sugar, or to taste
Instructions
Thaw the frozen passion fruit pulp.
In a large pitcher, combine the pulp, water, and sugar.
Stir well until the sugar dissolves completely.
Refrigerate until cold.
To make an individual mocktail:
Ingredients
1 tall glass
1/4 lime wedge
5–6 fresh mint leaves
½ cup prepared passion fruit juice
½ cup sparkling water
Ice cubes
Instructions
In a tall glass, add the mint leaves and the lime wedge.

Pour in the passion fruit juice and sparkling water.
Add ice, stir gently, and serve immediately.
Storage and shelf life
The passion fruit juice can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
It is best to prepare individual mocktails just before serving to preserve carbonation and freshness.
If you want to serve it later, store the muddled mint and lime separately and mix with juice and sparkling water right before serving.
Healthier ingredient swaps
Use agave syrup or honey instead of white sugar for a more natural sweetener.
Try fresh passion fruit pulp if available - strain it to remove seeds for a smoother juice.
Replace sparkling water with coconut water for a more tropical, hydrating twist.
